Marcos Allende

Co-founder and CEO of Blerify, a platform building verification infrastructure for a new era of wallet-based interactions between businesses and individuals.

A quantum physicist by training with postgraduate studies in Quantum Computing and Cryptography at MIT, and Finance and Management at LSE, Marcos led the technical department for blockchain, digital wallets, and quantum technologies at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) from 2017 to 2023.

He has held leadership roles in over 20 emerging technology projects across Latin America and the Caribbean, including national ID Wallet implementations and their interoperability with the financial sector. He is also the Co-Founder and former CTO of LACChain, the largest blockchain network in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Marcos has served as a professor, keynote speaker, and mentor at several institutions, including Harvard Kennedy School, Universidad de los Andes, UC3M, the European School of Technology, and Three Points Digital School. He developed the first end-to-end quantum-resistant solution for EVM-compatible blockchain networks, published in Nature’s Scientific Reports.

He has contributed to over 25 publications in collaboration with the IDB, the World Economic Forum, and other global thought leaders, and serves as a technical expert representing Spain in ISO/IEC standardization committees.
