José María Nicola

An attorney, he primarily focuses his activities in the Corporate/M&A and Banking departments.

He specializes in banking law, capital markets, and project finance, as well as M&A transactions and corporate law. He has advised local and multinational companies on complex and significant financings and mergers and acquisitions in Uruguay.

His practice area also includes advising international and local companies in the fintech sector.

From 2022 to 2024, he worked in the New York office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP on the infrastructure and projects team, participating in multiple financings and M&A transactions related to infrastructure projects in the United States.

In 2022, he obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Georgetown Law (Washington, D.C.). He is also an aspiring Adjunct Professor of Banking and Financial Markets Law at the Law School of the Universidad de Montevideo.
